Jist News, the digital-first news platform, has appointed journalist and documentary filmmaker Asmita Nandy as Consulting Editor.
A Ramnath Goenka Award winner, Asmita Nandy brings nearly a decade of experience in investigative and immersive journalism across television, digital, and documentary formats. Her work has been recognized with the WAN-IFRA South Asia Award and RedInk Special Mention for impactful storytelling and editorial rigour.
Asmita has reported for leading Indian and international media organizations including CNA, French TV, Brut, The Quint, and Reuters, with a focus on people-first journalism and ground-level narratives.
At Jist, she will shape editorial strategy, lead documentary initiatives, and mentor Jist's reporting teams to deepen the platform's focus on investigative and field-based journalism.
