- In a LinkedIn post, Lele expressed gratitude to colleagues and partners, reflecting on the impactful lessons learned during his time at Castrol India.
- Castrol India has appointed Saugata Basuray as Interim CEO starting January 1, 2026, in addition to his current role as Wholetime Director & Head B2C Sales.
- Lele has over 25 years of experience in the consumer goods and automotive industries, previously working at Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) before joining Castrol.
Kedar Lele, Managing Director at Castrol India, has wrapped up his 15-month journey with the company, he announced through a LinkedIn post. Lele's exit will be effective December 31, 2025, bringing his stint at the company to a close.
In his post, Kedar Lele reflected on his journey at Castrol India and thanked colleagues, partners and teams for their support during his leadership.
On October 10, Castrol India, in a BSE filing, informed that the Board of Directors has appointed Saugata Basuray as Interim CEO with effect from January 1, 2026, until a new Managing Director is appointed. Basuray will take on the role of Interim CEO in addition to his current role of Wholetime Director & Head B2C Sales and consequently he will be re-designated as ‘Wholetime Director & Interim CEO’ with effect from 1 January 2026.
“Goodbye Castrol! As I wrap up my 15-month journey with Castrol India, I find myself reflecting on a stint that was short in time but deep in impact. It has been a privilege to work with some of the kindest and most committed people—individuals who care deeply about doing things the right way, even when the work is demanding and conditions are challenging”, Lele said in a LinkedIn post.
“This chapter may have been short, but it offered lasting lessons in perseverance and perspective”, he added.
Kedar Lele is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of success in driving growth, innovation, and customer excellence within the dynamic consumer goods and automotive industries. Leads Castrol India Ltd as the Managing Director and Vice President for South Asia Performance Unit.
Kedar's experience spans across Advertising, Internet companies, FMCG Marketing, Sales & Customer Development, and General Management. Prior to this, Kedar spent over two decades at Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), honing his expertise in building iconic brands, leading high-performing teams, and navigating complex business landscapes.
