- The Central Government has reappointed Anand Mahindra as a part-time, non-official Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a four-year term starting from 20 August 2026.
- Mahindra is the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, which has diversified into various sectors including automobiles, agriculture, IT, and aerospace.
- He has previously served on multiple advisory bodies, including the RBI Board and the UN Global Compact Board.
- Additionally, Somanath Sreedhara Panicker has been appointed as a part-time, non-official Director on the RBI's Central Board for a four-year term, also effective from 20 August 2026.
The Central Government has reappointed Anand Mahindra as a part-time, non-official Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a four-year term.
Mahindra’s new term is effective from 20 August 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mahindra is Chairman of the Mahindra Group, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tech Mahindra. During his tenure, the group has expanded its presence in India and overseas across sectors including automobiles, agriculture, IT and aerospace.
He has also served on several national and international advisory bodies, including the RBI Board, the UN Global Compact Board, the Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Bank Group’s Advisory Board for Doing Business.
Separately, the Central Government has appointed Somanath Sreedhara Panicker as a part-time, Non-Official Director on the RBI’s Central Board for a four-year term, also effective from 20 August 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
