Alistair Macrow, CEO of McDonald’s UK & Ireland, has announced his departure from the fast-food giant. In a LinkedIn post, Macrow reflected on his journey and said he had the privilege of leading some of the most iconic and beloved campaigns during his time with the company.

“Yesterday, I announced my decision to leave the UK and Ireland business. It’s a decision that has been thoughtfully considered over time, and I’m confident that now is the right moment for the business to transition to new leadership”, he stated in his LinkedIn post.

As per media reports, Lauren Schultz will succeed him as CEO on September 1.

Macrow joined the fast food giant in 2007 and has since held several senior positions across the UK business and globally, including Global Chief Marketing Officer. He was appointed CEO in 2021.

In his role, Macrow worked in close partnership with franchisees and suppliers to strengthen the brand and business in the UK & I through a continuous focus on enhancing the customer experience and creating an environment in which everyone is able to realise their potential.
