The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday directed 4 DPOs from Kolkata and one from Mumbai to solve issues that have been observed by the body within five days.
The DPOs who are being pulled up here are Barasat Cable TV Network Pvt. Ltd, Digicablecomm Services Pvt Ltd, GTPL Kolkata Cable & Broadband Pariseva Ltd, Multi Reach Media Pvt. Ltd and Bhorer Alo Cable & Broadband Pvt. Ltd.
The data available on the TRAI website cites the non-compliance issues. The common issues noticed were that the DPOs were not offering subscriber corner facility on their website, their call centre did not support IVRS and they were not publishing STB schemes on their website.
Multi Reach Media Pvt. Ltd, as per TRAI, also did not have a Customer Care programming service. The said DPO was allegedly offering a bouquet of free-to-air channels with no choice to subscribers.
Digicablecomm Services Pvt Ltd subscribers were not able to choose channels of their choice in BST.
Barasat Cable TV Network Pvt. Ltd’s Toll-Free Customer Care Number was not responding.
Earlier, TRAI had pulled up DTH operators like TataSky, Dish TV, Independent TV and Sun Direct TV for migrating their long-time subscribers to Best Fit Plan. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
