Neha Khanna selected as India’s sole representative for Jefferson Fellowship

Senior journalist and Prime Time anchor Neha Khanna has been chosen as the only journalist from India to participate in the prestigious Jefferson Fellowship. The fellowship, which fosters cross-cultural dialogue and reporting, will take Khanna to the United States, Taiwan, and the Philippines to represent India.
With a journalism career spanning over 20 years, Khanna currently serves as Deputy Editor and Senior Anchor with TV9 Network, where she hosts Global Lens, a flagship prime-time show focused on global news, international relations, and India’s foreign policy. Prior to this, she held key roles at WION, where she anchored shows like WION Pulse and the weekly signature show, Inside South Asia with Neha Khanna. Khanna spent 13 years at NDTV, hosting several prominent programs, including The Buck Stops Here - Weekend Edition.
In 2015, Khanna was recognized as a United Nations RAF Fellow and attended the 70th UN General Assembly in New York, where she met then UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. In 2019, she was selected as an International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) Fellow by the U.S. State Department, where she met several U.S. presidential candidates. Her global reach and credibility are further evidenced by her selections as a Chevening Scholar and an Australia-India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) alumna.
Her international experience extends to a 2009 internship with the BBC Parliamentary Programmes team in London, where she covered British Parliament proceedings for Today in Parliament on BBC Radio 4. She has also been interviewed by leading platforms like the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), China Global Television Network (CGTN), and The Boston Globe.
Khanna’s academic background includes studies in the Hansard Research Scholars Programme on Democracy and Public Policy at the London School of Economics, Broadcast Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, and Political Science at Delhi University’s Hindu College, where she was the President of the Debating Society. In 2022, she received the “Best 40 Under 40 in English Journalism in India” award by exchange4media.
