Kalaignar TV continues its focus on soaps; launches new serial ‘Thekkethi Ponnu’

Continuing with its focus on soaps to increase eyeballs, Kalaignar TV is set to launch a new serial ‘Thekkethi Ponnu'’, directed by veteran film director Bharathi Raja. The serial would have many ‘first-of-its-kinds’ to its credit. To be premiered on April 14, 2008, the serial would be aired at 8.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Continuing with its focus on soaps to increase eyeballs, Kalaignar TV is set to launch a new serial ‘Thekkethi Ponnu'’, directed by veteran film director Bharathi Raja. The serial would have many ‘first-of-its-kinds’ to its credit. To be premiered on April 14, 2008, the serial would be aired at 8.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

This multi-starrer soap boasts of an impressive star cast and a unique storyline. Raja, who has several blockbusters in Tamil and other languages to his credit, is making his small screen directorial debut with ‘Thekkethi Ponnu’.

The entire serial had been shot in a village with a mix of soil and soul, stated an official communiqué issued by Kalaignar TV. Popular actors Napolean and Ranjitha are making their small screen debut with this serial. Raja has teamed up with music maestro Ilayaraja for this television serial. Ilayaraja has composed the title song and also did the re-recording for the entire serial.

Kalaignar TV has been focusing more on daily soaps from the day of its launch. The channel has had 14 daily soaps, each one of them from a well-known film personality or production house.
