Discovery brings 6 IPs across the network with 36 sponsors on-board for the festive season

The network targets strong double-digit growth this season

As fast as the festive season approaches, broadcasters are leaving no stone unturned to feed the consumer with a variety of content.

Discovery Communication network rides on path-breaking Indian IPs and content partnerships to deliver strong advertising growth in the festive season. The network is launching six Indian IPs including Moonbound, HAWS, Indian Citizen Squad, The Calling, Midnight Misadventures with Mallika Dua and Mission Big Cat across the network.

The channel has also signed 36 brands on-board as sponsors. “We got a blockbuster line up this festive season. Across the network, Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet and Discovery Kids we got six large IPs. We all understand that consumer is hungry for content and Discovery is known for international content, this will take the network to the next level where we continue to fulfill the curiosity of the customer in terms of giving them the right and purposeful content. We created a lot of IPs that have individual connect, which is global but local as well,” said Vikram Tanna, Vice President – Head of Advertising Sales, Discovery Communications India On Discovery, the channel has Moonbound and HAWS.

On TLC, the channel has a show with Mallika Dua, and the travel show 'The Calling'. On Animal Planet, the channel has Mission Big Cat along with Little Singham Squad, a special series around Diwali season on Discovery Kids.

On Discovery Channel:

Moonbound: Co-presented by Amazon Echo and co-powered by PUBG, Levi Strauss, Mobile Partner-Nokia, Associate – Forevermark, Sony Bravia, Honda Motorcycles, Philips Trimmer, Idea 4G

Breaking Point HAWS (Starting November 9): Is co-presented by Toyota Yaris, PUBG and co-powered by Vivo, LIC, Policy Bazaar, Swiggy, Associate – Cars24, Dell, Hongkong Tourism, Reliance Digital

On TLC Channel:

Mallika Dua (Started September 20) is co-presented– Veeba Foods and co-powered by Prestige, Ritu Kumar, LG, Fogg, in association with– VIVO, Usha, Toyota.

The Calling (Started on October 19) is co-presented by Airtel 4G and co-powered – Sony Bravia, Swiggy, in association with Bata, Levi Strauss, Bose, Voltas Becko, Honda Jazz, Philips Trimmer

On Animal Planet:

Mission Big Cat is co-presented by Airtel 4G and co-powered by Parle Milano,, in association with LIC, Bose, Gyproc (Saint Gobain), LG.

On Discovery Kids:

Little Singham Diwali episodes- Co-powered by- Britannia

Little Singham Dus Din Dus Villian- Co-presenting- Hershey’s and co-powered by- Little Kitties (Hasbro)

Superhit Weekends- Presenting- Jolly Rancher (Hershey’s)

Little Singham Squad: Co-presented by Dabur Red Paste, co-powered by Cipla Immuno-boosters, Britannia Cakes, in association with Dettol, Jolly Rancher, Mamy Poko pants.

Tanna added, “The advertisers' response has been great. We are actually sold out on inventory of all these six IPs. We got 36 advertisers on board for these IPs over this festive season.”

Speaking about the growth expectation from the festive season, Tanna refused to give numbers but said, “We are expecting high numbers. We are looking at strong double digit growth.”

The network has also done a content partnership called, Discovery School Super League powered by BYJU’S to reach out to 12000+ schools across 30 states and union territories targeting 2.5 million students in the age-group of 8 to 14 years.
