Dayashankar Mishra joins khabar.ndtv.com as editor
Mishra, along with Dainik Bhaskar.com, had led the operation of providing news in real time by a 'Hyper Local Model' with the co-operation of print media for the first time in 2012
Dayashankar Mishra has been appointed as the Editor of NDTV’s Hindi website khabar.ndtv.com. Prior to joining NDTV, Mishra worked as the Chief of Network 18 group’s ‘Hyper Local’ Hindi website News 18.
Mishra brings with him 13 years of experience and has worked with various media organisations in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Jammu Kashmir. His hobbies include books, movies, cricket and writing. He believes that Mahatma Gandhi, Dushyant Kumar, Howard Fast, Premchand and Amrutlal Nagar are the Schools of Journalism.
He has worked with Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, Rajasthan Patrika and Dainik Bhaskar.com before joining Network 18. He believes in retaining the foundation value of news and presenting it the way it should be presented. He is one of the few proponers to have deliberated on the quality of news content and its social impact.
“NDTV has always been his favourite media organisation. NDTV has always given the topmost priority to journalistic values. Today when a large chunk of the media is sensationalised running after TRP and page views, NDTV has laid importance on faith and social interest. Hence, I am very excited to be associated with NDTV,” said Mishra.
Mishra has played an important role in the re-launch of newspapers like Dainik Bhaskar, Bhopal and Rajasthan Patrika’s Jaipur city pull-outs from 2008 to 2011and has made it reader centric . He along with Dainik Bhaskar.com had led the operation of providing news in real time by a ‘Hyper Local Model’ with the co-operation of print media for the first time in 2012. He had also launched the Hyper Local Model at Divya Bhaskar and had also initiated real-time updation at Ahmedabad, Rajkot,Surat and Vadodara.
Mishra is also known for his contribution towards grass root journalism.
Mishra has also been a part of a group that researched on the social impact and electoral polarisation of the Gujarat riots in 2002. He was also on a book on the society, riots and politics in those days.
