BARC Week 38: Zee TV returns to No.1 position in Hindi GEC (Urban Market)

Kaun Banega Crorepati continued to reign over the Top 5 programs list in the urban market with 7.5 million impressions

Zee Anmol continued to lead collectively in the Hindi GEC category with 700 million impressions, according to BARC data for week 38 (September 16-22). It was followed by Zee TV with 671 million impressions and Star Bharat with 582 million impressions.

Zee TV ruled the urban market with 402 million impressions while Zee Anmol continued to rule the rural market with 542 million impressions.

Zee TV’s popular properties, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ made it to the Top 5 programs overall with 12.6 million and 11.7 million impressions, respectively.

Urban Market

Zee TV dethroned Star Plus with 402 million impressions, compared to 383 million impressions it had in Week 37. Its ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained at second spot in the top 5 programs list in this market garnering 7.3 million impressions while ‘Kundali Bhagya’ took the third spot with 6.8 million impressions.

Star Plus dropped to second spot after briefly ruling this segment with 387 million impressions as against 409 million impressions last week.

Colors rose to the third spot from fourth spot last week with 382 million impressions, compared to 374 million impressions it had in Week 37. ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ slipped to fifth spot in the Top 5 Programs (Urban) list fetching 5.8 million impressions.

Sony Entertainment Television dropped to fourth spot with 377 million impressions as against previous week’s 396 million impressions. Its iconic property 'Kaun Banega Crorepati’ reigned over the Top 5 programs list in the urban market with 7.5 million impressions.

Zee TV retained its third spot with 383 million impressions as against the 370 million impressions it garnered the previous week.

Sony SAB took the fifth spot with 264 million impressions.

Rural Market

Zee Anmol continued to lead rural market with 542 million impressions with its popular show ‘Jamai Raja’ maintaining its first position in the Top 5 Programs (Rural) with 6.4 million impressions.

Sony Pal maintained the second spot with 365 million impressions. The show ‘Baalveer’ aired on Sony Pal continued at second spot with 6.1 million impressions.

The new channel Star Bharat maintained third spot with 321 million impressions. None of its shows made it to the Top 5 Programs list.

Rishtey remained at the fourth spot with 297 million impressions. No show from Rishtey also made it to the Top 5 Programs list.

Zee TV maintained its fifth spot with 269 million impressions.
