Asianet suspends Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 temporarily
The channel revealed that the move is in line with the government's proposal to prevent the spread of coronavirus
Malayalam television channel Asianet has released a statement saying that it will be temporarily suspending shoot and production of Bigg Boss Malayalam 2. The channel explained that the decision is in line with the government's proposal to clamp down on the spread of novel coronavirus. The company said in a statement:
"As a responsible channel in the fight against COVID-19, it is imperative to ensure the safety of the Bigg Boss family members and the large production crew involved with the show. Unfortunately, in this emergency, the shooting of the Bigg Boss Show cannot continue, so Bigg Boss 2 is temporarily suspended for Saturday, March 21st onwards. The decision was made in support of the government's cautious proposals to prevent the spread of coronavirus."
Bigg Boss Malayalam 2, which is currently on air on Asianet, is a widely-popular television show. Hosted by Malayalam star Mohanlal, the show follows the same format of its Hindi counterpart.
Prior to Asianet's announcement, the show's sponsor Endemol Shine India announced in a tweet on Tuesday that there will be a voluntary suspension of all administrative and production departments until further notice. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
