The tariff war between Airtel Digital and Star India has been resolved by both the parties. After a couple of weeks, both parties have renewed the agreement.

The companies issued a joint statement stating, “Airtel Digital subscribers will continue to get uninterrupted access to all of Star’s programmes, including Vivo IPL, following an agreement reached between Star and Airtel. Both parties would like to assure their subscribers that the two companies are committed to bringing more and more high-quality content and experience to their consumers.”

As per the media reports, the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) directed Star India and Airtel Digital to enter into a negotiated agreement before 31st March, or else go with the RIO deal which will come into effect from 1st April.

The conflict between the two ensued when the broadcaster had reached out to the subscribers asking them to discontinue Airtel subscription and switch to new DTH/ cable operator when it accused Airtel of unilaterally increasing prices of Star TV channels across its pack.
