Structural changes at Mint, Anil Padmanabhan is now Executive Editor
As Mint completes a decade of existence next year, it sees a few structural changes which includes the appointment of Anil Padmanabhan as Executive Editor and Sundeep Khanna as National Corporate Editor
As Mint completes a decade of existence next year, it sees a few structural changes which includes the appointment of Anil Padmanabhan as Executive Editor and Sundeep Khanna as National Corporate Editor.
Anil Padmanabhan, who has been with Mint since its inception, and also manages many of the special projects will now be Executive Editor and responsible for all news operations across platforms. All line and functional editors and bureau chiefs, including the editors of BoL and Lounge with the exception of Leslie D’Monte, and the Start-Up team who will continue to report to Sukumar( Editor Mint), will now report to Padmanabhan.
Sundeep Khanna, who has been running Livemint will step in to address gaps in corporate coverage, Khanna will don the role of National Corporate Editor and spearhead Mint’s coverage of large corporates.
Jose Tharakan, who runs the integrated desk, will now be in charge of Livemint as well as all related digital properties. He will, in his new role as Assistant Managing Editor, Digital, report to Sukumar.
Ira Dugal has been promoted in recognition of her great work in Mumbai and will now be Deputy Managing Editor. She will continue to run Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and also play an important role in strengthening deals, financial markets and corporate coverage.
Anil Penna has been promoted in recognition of his work on Page 1, the rewrite desk, and Mint Asia. He will now be Deputy Managing Editor. He will run Mint Asia, Mint’s rewrite desk, and also oversee special projects and reports for Mint Asia. He will continue to report to Sukumar for Mint Asia.
Naresh Mathur, who has been with Mint from its inception, and was the first Page 1 editor, has been promoted as the head of the integrated copy desk. He will now be part of Mint’s ELT and report to Jose Tharakan.
Ashish Kumar Mishra will continue to do the in-depth long form narratives, and will don the role as Deputy Editor and tap writers across bureaus to work with him on these.
