ML Kotru, former Editor of The Statesman, passed away on September 25. He had served as the news editor of The Statesman in Delhi and was also the India correspondent for The Sunday Times of London.
A familiar face at the Press Club of India, he was widely regarded as a prominent figure in the country’s journalistic circles.
Kotru was the author of The Kashmir Story (first published in 1994), and co-author—alongside Benoy Sarkar—of Asia ’72: official guide.
Several journalists have paid tribute to him, remembering him as the ‘doyen of journalism’.

The news is not that legendary Delhi Statesman former editor Mr ML Kotru has passed away but the fact that he survived for so many years after the death of real journalism is more remarkable. May he travel in power to the eternal world and ever stay strong over there.
