The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, in partnership with BW Businessworld  and the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum, is set to host an influential event in New Delhi, focusing on the themes of stakeholder capitalism, business ethics, and leadership challenges in today's dynamic environment. The session will feature renowned scholars and top business and political leaders, making it a must-attend for executives seeking to gain fresh insights into sustainable business strategies.

A key highlight of this thought leadership event is the presence of Professor R. Edward Freeman, widely regarded as the father of stakeholder capitalism, for the first time in India. Freeman, a leading scholar in corporate responsibility and business strategy, will present his views on how stakeholder-centric strategies foster long-term business success. His work has shaped contemporary thinking on how businesses should account for the interests of all stakeholders—customers, employees, suppliers, communities, and shareholders—to achieve sustainable growth.

The session will be led by Freeman.  The dialogue will also feature Scott Beardsley, Dean of the UVA Darden School and former McKinsey Senior Partner and other prominent business and political leaders, including Anand Stanley, President, Asia-Pacific, Airbus and Darden alumnus; Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India; Meenakshi Lekhi, Advocate and Former MOS Foreign Affairs and Culture; and Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld.

The discussion will delve into the complexities of stakeholder management, the ethical challenges businesses face, and the evolving role of senior business leaders. It will provide attendees with actionable insights into balancing profit with purpose in a rapidly changing business environment.

Following the dialogue, attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow executives over drinks and dinner, fostering connections that can further their leadership journeys.

The UVA Darden School, often recognized as the No.1 global public MBA program, is excited to host this collaborative event aimed at shaping the future of business leadership in India.
