GTC Network resumes Gurbani telecast after brief interruption

GTC Network has resumed the live telecast of Gurbani from the Golden Temple after briefly stopping the broadcast amid concerns raised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

The interruption lasted only a few minutes, with the channel restarting the telecast after receiving an overwhelming number of calls from devotees. The broadcast continues daily according to its regular schedule.

In an emotional video message, Dr Rabindra Narayan, Founder and Managing Director of GTC Network, said the channel was deeply moved by the response from viewers.

“We stopped the telecast briefly for a few minutes, but our phone lines were flooded with calls from devout viewers. Considering their sentiments and devotion, we had to resume it. The Gurbani broadcast continues every day as per its scheduled timings,” Narayan said.

“It is also pertinent to mention that the Gurbani telecast from the Golden Temple was not available to DD Free Dish viewers until now. Through GTC Punjabi, it has become accessible to them, particularly during the evening hours. DD Free Dish largely serves rural and economically weaker sections of society, who were previously unable to watch the telecast,” he added.

Narayan reiterated that the network’s objective was to make Gurbani accessible to the global Sangat and that the telecast was being carried as a spiritual service, without any commercial or vested interest.

The brief interruption followed objections from the SGPC regarding the re-telecast of its official Gurbani feed. However, GTC Network said its decision to restore the broadcast was prompted by the strong response from devotees, many of whom expressed distress when it was momentarily halted.

With the broadcast restored, viewers can continue watching the daily Gurbani telecast on GTC Punjabi at its regularly scheduled timings.
