The Delhi High Court has quashed an FIR and an ED case against news portal NewsClick and its editor-in-Chief Prabir Purkayastha. They were facing allegations of foreign funding.
The court said "the essential ingredients of offences...were not made out".
The HC also said that the continuation of such an FIR was nothing but a "gross abuse of the process of law".
The court called the ED proceedings "not only mala fide, but also an arbitrary attack and abuse of powers on the free and impartial journalism of the Petitioners".
