The Delhi High has reportedly set aside the Look Out Circulars (LOCs) issued against former NDTV promoters Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy in relation to two CBI cases.
The order was passed by Justice Sachin Datta, who said the LOCs would stand cancelled as long as the petitioners continue to cooperate with the investigation.
During the hearing, the court was informed that the circulars had been opened at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with two FIRs lodged in June 2017 and August 2019.
Of the two matters, the 2017 case has already been closed by the agency, while the 2019 case remains under investigation and no chargesheet has been filed so far.
The earlier case, registered in 2017, named the Roys, RRPR Holdings and NDTV based on a complaint filed by Sanjay Dutt, director of Quantum Security Private Limited. According to the complaint, the Roys and RRPR Holdings had taken a loan to purchase a 20% stake in NDTV, and were later accused of conspiring with ICICI Bank officials in connection with that transaction.
The CBI subsequently filed a closure report in the matter, which was accepted by the High Court on January 23.
