WPP has been appointed as the media agency for Waymo, Alphabet's autonomous driving business, across North America and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, adding another high-profile technology client to its portfolio.
As per global reports, Waymo has confirmed that WPP Media will handle media strategy, planning and buying across the two regions.
The agency will also support the company's expansion into several of its first international markets. The identity of the incumbent agency could not be immediately established.
The partnership comes as Waymo ramps up its global marketing efforts. Alongside its international expansion plans, the company is also understood to be conducting a creative agency review for its first-ever Super Bowl advertising campaign, signalling a broader push to build consumer awareness of autonomous mobility.
