VCCP secures IKEA UK & Ireland creative account

According to reports, incumbent agency Mother did not repitch for the account after holding it for 16 years

VCCP has won IKEA UK & Ireland’s creative account following a multi-agency pitch that included Omnicom’s Adam & Eve/DDB TBWA and WPP’s VML, according to latest reports.

The incumbent agency Mother did not repitch for the business after holding the account for 16 years. Earlier in the process, McCann and AMV BBDO were also dropped from the shortlist, leaving three agencies in the final stage of the review.

Mother created some of IKEA’s most recognisable campaigns, including the long-running “The Wonderful Everyday” platform. VCCP is expected to continue with the tagline as it takes on the account amid rising supply chain costs and more price-sensitive consumers.

The review of IKEA’s media account, currently held by Dentsu’s iProspect, is still ongoing.
