Shashi Sinha, CEO of IPG Mediabrands, was named Network Head of the Year while Nandini Dias, CEO of Lodestar UM, won Agency CEO of the Year award at exchange4media’s Media ACE Awards 2017. The Media ACE Awards recognise Indian media agencies for their work and contribution to the industry.
"It is a great feeling for me as an individual but it is also a recognition of the great work that has been put in by your team. No individual can make a difference; it is always a collective effort, so it is a very nice feeling," said Sinha.
Likewise, Dias commented, "This is my second time (winning Agency CEO of the Year at Media ACE) and I am really happy. In fact, I have been told that there has not been a CEO till now who has won twice in a row and so I am honoured and happy that it happened. Last year we had an exceptional year with the kind of work that we did, the awards that we won and the new client businesses that we received. I thought that it could not be beaten but this year has been even better. We are very grateful that despite hearing from so many people about a slowdown, demonetization, etc., we have done well."
Apart from these two stalwarts of the marketing industry, the Media ACE Awards also recognized some of upcoming talent in the industry. The Rising Star of the Year was jointly won by Aakruti Upadhyay of Mindshare India, Anoushka Adya of Di-Mentions Studio and Lajja Diaries, Priyanka Jain of Madison Media and Roohani Nayyar of PHD India.
Rahul Marwaha of Interactive Avenues was named Unit Head of the Year. The Client Head of the Year award was jointly won by Abhik Banerjee of Madison Media, Anuj Madan of OMD India and Madhura Ranade of Isobar India.
Lodestar UM was awarded the Innovative Agency of the Year award while Mindshare India was the runner up.
