Lodestar UM retains Samsung India’s media duties worth Rs 500 to 600 crore

Digital duties remain with Cheil while Lodestar UM will handle all offline duties, including TV

After a year-long competitive pitch, Lodestar UM of IPG Mediabrands has retained Samsung India’s media duties estimated to be around Rs 500 to 600 crore. 

As per industry sources, Cheil has retained the digital duties, whereas Lodestar UM has won the media and other offline duties.

The pitch that went on for over 10 months had all leading agencies in the fray. As per industry sources, Lodestar and Mindshare made it to the final round with IPG's Lodestar UM eventually retaining the account.

exchange4media reached out to Samsung and Lodestar UM for an official confirmation but did not receive any till the time of publishing this article. 

Samsung India is one of the most sought-after accounts in the business. The winning agency will be handling the entire portfolio of the brand in India, including mobile phones, TV/audio/video, cameras/camcorder, home appliances, PCs and printers. The account has been with IPG’s Lodestar since 2013.
