Kapil Arora has taken charge as the Group CEO of Ogilvy Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the advertising and marketing communications industry. Arora, who has been serving as Chief Operating Officer since January 2024, will now lead the strategic direction and operations of Ogilvy's Indonesian business.
The elevation comes as recognition of Arora's proven leadership capabilities across multiple markets and his instrumental role in strengthening Ogilvy's position in Indonesia. His appointment represents a homecoming of sorts, as Arora has deep-rooted history with the Ogilvy network spanning nearly two decades.
Before joining Ogilvy Indonesia, Arora served as Co-Chairman and CEO at 82.5 Communications from August 2019 to January 2024, where he led the agency's strategic growth and creative output. Prior to that, he spent over six years as President of Ogilvy Group Companies, North, from February 2013 to August 2019, overseeing operations across multiple markets in Northern India.
Arora's association with Ogilvy dates back to 2004, when he joined as President and Country Head of Team Vodafone, a role he held for nearly nine years until January 2013. During this tenure, he built and led one of the most successful dedicated client teams in Indian advertising, delivering award-winning work for the telecommunications giant.
As Group CEO, Arora will be responsible for driving business growth, fostering creative excellence, and ensuring Ogilvy Indonesia continues to deliver innovative solutions to its diverse client portfolio. His extensive experience across different leadership roles within and outside the Ogilvy network positions him uniquely to navigate the dynamic Indonesian market.
The Indonesian advertising sector presents substantial opportunities as brands seek integrated communication solutions in one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economies. Arora's elevation from COO to Group CEO within a year underscores his immediate impact on the organization and signals Ogilvy's confidence in his vision for the agency's future in Indonesia.
