Hotstar has said it is expecting to get 30 crore viewers during IPL 2019, media reports said. The platform is set to stream IPL matches in eight languages this year.

“In India, cricket is a very intrinsic part of our fabric and IPL over the years has become one of the largest sporting events globally. Last season alone, an astounding 202 million viewers watched IPL on Hotstar and we expect this number to grow tremendously this year,” Hotstar chief product officer Varun Narang was reported as saying.

Hotstar is also set to launch ‘Koi Yaar Nahi Far’, which will allow viewers to participate in the Watch N’Play game along with their families.

Viewers will be able to compete with their friends and family with their scores being displayed on a new social leader board.

There will also be an option where viewers can hear each other’s voices while chatting about the match. The voices can be heard by not just the family members but celebrities and experts too.

Winners of the Watch N’Play games will also get the chance to redeem points on Amazon Pay. The campaign TVC was unveiled on March 8.
