Flipkart and Myntra sales TVCs led to their appearance in BARC's Top 10 Brands
BARC Week 51: IBF which led the category the previous week for its role in issuing TVCs on the new TRAI tariff order, slipped to the third spot

Online portals took advantage of the year-end holiday season and came out with sales which were advertised heavily on television throughout the campaigns. Flipkart’s TVCs on their ‘Best of Season Sale (BOSS)’ featured Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Even Myntra’s latest commercials had Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and badminton champion PV Sindhu promoting their ‘End of Reason Sale.’ This led to e-commerce giant Flipkart and its fashion e-tailer Myntra to foray in the Top 10 Brands for week 51 (December 15-21, 2018) at the second and tenth spot with 15,739 and 8687 insertions respectively.
Meanwhile, Policybazaar topped the BARC Top 10 Brands (December 15-21,2018) with 19,288 insertions. IBF which led the category the previous week for its role in issuing TVCs on the new TRAI tariff order, slipped to the third spot with 14,853 insertions. Trivago and Phonepe also fell to the fourth and fifth spots with 12,174 and 11,412 insertions respectively. Harpic forayed the category at the sixth spot with 11,134 insertions.
Whatsapp slipped to the seventh spot with 9781 insertions Dr. Ortho Oil and Capsule and Mahindra Marazzo took the eighth and ninth spots with 9730 and 9214 insertions respectively.
In the same week, in the BARC Top 10 Advertisers list, FMCG brand Hindustan Lever, Reckitt Benckiser, and ITC Ltd continued to lead with 1,08,342, 54,125 and 42,742 insertions, respectively. Procter & Gamble also retained its fourth spot with 36,568 insertions.
Ponds India climbed up to the fifth spot with 30,455 insertions. Cassettes Industries entered the category in the sixth position with 29,427 insertions, while Godrej Consumer Products slipped to the seventh spot with 25,669 insertions. SBS Biotech moved up to the eighth spot with 25,383 insertions. Cadbury’s India forayed at ninth position in the category with 24,894 insertions.
