On his birthday, it is worth celebrating the remarkable professional journey of Indian marketing veteran and entrepreneur Sanjay Tripathy, who has successfully reinvented himself from a corporate business leader into a startup founder and fintech entrepreneur. Today, Tripathy is the Co-Founder and CEO of BRISKPE, a cross-border payments startup focused on empowering MSMEs with faster and more efficient global payment solutions. 

A Stanford Graduate School of Business alumnus, Tripathy has built a career spanning more than three decades across FMCG, telecom, media, financial services, digital and e-commerce. Over the years, he has held leadership positions at companies including HDFC Life, Reliance Communications, PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay, Mattel and GCMMF. 

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, Tripathy was among the most recognised marketing leaders in the country. At HDFC Life, he led marketing, product, digital and direct channels, playing a key role in shaping the company’s customer and digital strategy. 

In 2017, he took a bold career turn by leaving the corporate world to pursue advanced management studies at Stanford University. Following that phase, he founded Agilio Labs, a startup studio and digital transformation venture, before eventually launching BRISKPE. 

Apart from entrepreneurship, Tripathy has also emerged as a prominent mentor, angel investor and industry thought leader. He has invested in over 20 startups and has mentored dozens of young ventures across fintech, insurtech and digital businesses. He is also a regular speaker at marketing, startup and technology forums. 

His transition from boardroom leadership to entrepreneurship continues to stand out as one of the more notable second-act stories in India’s marketing and startup ecosystem.
