Just last month, social media was buzzing with posts about Bengaluru’s iconic KFC Signal at Indiranagar being replaced. For many, the nostalgia ran far deeper than a signboard coming down, it sparked conversations about brand recall, cultural memory, and the way certain commercial landmarks become woven into a city’s everyday language.
As exchange4media earlier reported, the signal was initially expected to be renamed after Pizza Hut, another Yum! Brands restaurant. But in an unexpected twist, just hours ago, SNITCH Founder Siddharth Dungarwal posted on LinkedIn confirming that the landmark will now be renamed the ‘SNITCH Signal’, with the homegrown fashion marque set to open a flagship store at the same junction.

Bringing a personal touch to the announcement, Dungarwal wrote on LinkedIn, “Never thought the signal I used to cross as a student… would one day carry our name. Bangalore, you make dreams feel real. Hello, SNITCH Signal … Coming soon.”
Speaking to exchange4media, Dungarwal added, “Life comes full circle in ways you never expect. The signal I waited for years ago is now where our next era begins. Thank you, Bengaluru, for making dreams feel real.”
For decades, the KFC Signal has lived in Bengaluru’s collective memory, as a navigational shorthand, a meeting point, and a marker of the city’s pop culture. As we reported earlier, such branded landmarks hold immense media value, offering brands hyper-local visibility, cultural imprint, and a sustained presence in city vocabulary. It’s why the news of its transformation triggered a wave of nostalgia online, with residents revisiting memories of student-life shortcuts, morning commutes, and early days in the city.
With its transition to the SNITCH Signal, Bengaluru isn’t just witnessing a name change, it’s seeing a global brand–led landmark give way to a homegrown D2C success story. The moment captures a shift in the city’s entrepreneurial energy, where local brands are no longer just participating in the market but reshaping the cityscape itself.
The official unveiling of the SNITCH Signal is expected soon. And as Bengaluru prepares for the change, the city carries both nostalgia and curiosity, watching one of its most recognisable crossroads step into its next chapter, this time powered by a homegrown narrative.
