Delhi to not host IPL matches over coronavirus concerns: Reports

The move comes a day after the Arvind Kejriwal-led government shut down schools, colleges and cinemas in the capital till March 31

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia announced on Friday March 13 that no IPL matches will be held in Delhi to curb the spread of novel coronavirus. Reports say that the national capital will suspend all seminars, conferences and sporting events like IPL until further notice.

 As per the move, events that may require a congregation of 200 or more people will be banned. The deputy CM spoke to reporters, appealing people to join the fight against the virus together. He urged citizens to practise social distancing. Sisodia also added all District Magistrates and Sub-District Magistrates have been instructed to follow orders from the Health Department.
