According to the latest numbers from TAM for CS 4+ all India market during IPL3, the average TVR of the 14 matches played between March 12 and March 20, is 4.69 per cent, with a cumulative reach of 108 million.

When compared to Season 2, the ratings are reasonably higher, however, they still fall short of the inaugural IPL season. In Season 2, for the first 14 matches, the average TVR received was 4.52 per cent, while the inaugural season had received TVR of 4.97 per cent.

While the TVR per cent of IPL3 may be lower than the inaugural season, nevertheless the cumulative reach of the 14 matches so far is the highest when compared to the earlier two seasons of IPL. While the cumulative reach for IPL3 so far has touched 108 million, the cumulative reach for Seasons 1 and 2 were 77 million and 96 million, respectively.

While the opening match (Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders) received a TVR of 5.85 per cent, followed by a TVR of 3.67 per cent for the match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils has got the highest TVR of IPL3 so far at 6.24 per cent.

Interestingly, it is mainly the matches played by Mumbai Indians that have witnessed one of the highest ratings. The Mumbai Indian and Royal Challengers Bangalore match on March 20, which was won by the latter, received a TVR of 5.55 per cent.

This apart, for the period March 12-21, which saw at least 16 matches being played, Vodafone Essar Ltd, Samsung India Electronics Ltd and Videocon Industries Ltd have emerged as the top three commercial advertisers. Among top five brands, Vodafone Cellular Phone Services continues to be the most visible, followed by Max New York Life Shiksha Plus, Tata Docomo, Airtel Cellular Phone Service and Idea Oongli Cricket.
