Radio City will be launching its FM station in Lucknow on December 10. This would be Radio City’s second station in the country, the first being Bangalore. Star India has appointed a leading research agency to gauge interests of listeners in Lucknow.

Radio City will be launching its FM station in Lucknow on December 10. This would be Radio City’s second station in the country, the first being Bangalore. Star India has appointed a leading research agency to gauge interests of listeners in Lucknow.
Radio City in Lucknow will make use of the transmission towers owned by All India Radio (AIR).
On the communication strategy for Lucknow, the company sources said that the two mediums—outdoor and print will be employed extensively.
Star India’s plans to launch radio stations in Mumbai, Delhi, Patna and Nagpur. The clearances from the government for the four metros are awaited at this stage. Once the company gets the government clearances, it will be able to launch FM stations in about four months. Radio City in Bangalore was India’s first private FM station and it went on air on July 3 this year.
Star India’s radio project is a joint venture with PK Mittal. The venture is titled Music Broadcast Private Limited (MBPL) where Star India will handle the content and airtime sales for Radio City’s FM stations across the country.
