On the occasion of International Women’s Day, HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company unveiled a digital film showcasing the inspiring journeys of its Women In-house Motor Surveyors.

In line with its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, HDFC ERGO launched the ‘Nari Shakti’ program, an initiative designed to bring women into roles, which had traditionally male employees.

The role of In-house motor surveyors comes into play during the motor insurance claims, and involves technical assessments, workshop interactions and rigorous on-ground inspections areas historically perceived as unsuitable for women.

Speaking about the initiative, Somesh Surana, Joint President, Digital Business Group & Marketing, HDFC ERGO General Insurance said, “As an equitable organisation, we at HDFC ERGO, value and celebrate people irrespective of their gender. We are proud to be among the few insurers in India with In-house women motor surveyors. Today, not only our In-house women motor surveyors have busted the gender myth, but we have noticed that due to their inherent quality, they are able to drive conversations with the customers in a much more empathetic way, especially during the distressed times of claims. This International Women’s Day, aligned with the theme ‘Give to Gain’, we are reminded that when we invest in people by giving them opportunities, access, and support we gain stronger teams, richer perspectives, and long-term business impact.”
