Vikas Sharma launches Five Ocean Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd.

In a major development in the media and telecom industry, seasoned industry leader Vikas Sharma has announced the launch of his new venture, Five Ocean Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd., where he takes charge as Managing Director. The announcement comes on the heels of a distinguished 32-year career spanning media, broadcasting, digital communications, and broadband services.

Marking a strong beginning for the new company, Sharma confirmed that Five Ocean Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd. has secured its first official business partnership and has been appointed as a Business Associate of RailTel Corporation of India, one of the country’s leading ICT and telecom public sector enterprises.
Calling it a “significant milestone,” Sharma expressed pride and optimism for this new chapter, emphasizing his commitment to building a strong, collaborative, and impactful partnership.

Sharma is widely known for his pioneering contributions to the Indian broadcasting ecosystem and the broadband revolution. Over the past three decades, he has worked across television, OTT, broadband, ISP operations, and digital connectivity, earning a reputation as a transformative leader.

A key highlight of his illustrious career was his tenure as Executive Director – Distribution & Marketing at Lok Sabha Television (Parliament of India). During this period, he played an instrumental role in the launch, national distribution, and branding of the world’s first parliamentary channel—an achievement regarded as a milestone in public-service broadcasting. His experience in government communications provided him with strategic insights into media policy, nationwide content dissemination, and large-scale citizen outreach.

Beyond broadcasting, Sharma has spearheaded major broadband and ISP ventures across India. His leadership spans FTTH/FTTP rollouts, ILL bandwidth procurement, operations management, CRM systems, digital marketing, and end-to-end ISP strategy. Most recently, as Global Head of Broadband & IoT Business, he has managed company-wide ISP operations while driving technological integration, strategic partnerships, and business expansion into domestic and global markets.

With the launch of Five Ocean Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Sharma aims to leverage his unique blend of media distribution expertise and telecom leadership to create value-driven solutions at the intersection of broadcasting, digital connectivity, and next-generation communication platforms.
