The Hindu, in association with the Madras Heritage Motoring Club, organised a rally for vintage cars from Chennai to Puducherry for the second time

The Hindu, in association with the Madras Heritage Motoring Club, organised a rally for vintage cars from Chennai to Puducherry for the second time.
Almost 35 cars, representing models from 1920s to 1960s, assembled at Besant Nagar Beach on the morning of February 11 and proceeded to Puducherry, returning to Chennai on February 12 for the closing ceremony at Raddison Blu Resort Temple Bay at Mamallapuram.
General public could view these heritage cars from 7.30 am on February 11 at Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai. VN Devadoss, Chairman, VGN Group and Karun Chandhok, one of only two Formula 1 drivers from India were the Chief Guests for the rally at Chennai.
P Rajavelu, Tourism Minister, Government of Puducherry, was the Chief Guest, who inaugurated the Puducherry rally at 5 pm on February 11.
VGN Developers, one of the leaders in the building industry since 1942, was the presenting sponsor, in association with Pondicherry Tourism.
