Tenure of 2 Independent Directors at Hindustan Media Ventures concludes

Hindustan Media Ventures Limited (HMVL) announced the conclusion of the tenure of its independent directors, Dr. Mukesh Aghi and Savitri Kunadi, on March 31, 2025. The company informed the stock exchanges about the end of their tenure, stating that both will no longer hold the position of independent directors. However, the company acknowledged their significant contributions to its growth and development.

Dr. Mukesh Aghi has extensive experience in business and government relations. He currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), where he actively works to promote trade and strengthen relations between the United States and India. Additionally, he serves as a trustee at Claremont Graduate University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Aghi has held leadership roles in several top companies. He was the CEO and board member of L&T Infotech, where he played a key role in expanding the company globally. He also served as the Chairman and CEO for Stéria, Inc. (India) in the Asia-Pacific region and as the President of IBM India. His professional journey includes significant stints with Ariba Inc. and JD Edwards & Company.

Dr. Aghi has a strong educational background with an Advanced Management Diploma from Harvard Business School, a Ph.D. in International Relations from Claremont Graduate University, an MBA in International Marketing from Andrews University, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Middle East College, Beirut.

He has received numerous awards, including the J.R.D. Tata Leadership Award and recognition as a 'Global Leader' by Esquire Magazine. In his free time, Dr. Aghi enjoys marathon running and mountaineering, having participated in over 27 international marathons and climbed some of the tallest peaks in North America and Europe.

Savitri Kunadi is a retired senior officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) with a distinguished 37-year career, during which she held several key diplomatic positions. She graduated from the University of Mumbai with a degree in History and Political Science and earned her Master’s degree from the University of Rajasthan.

After joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1967, she held important roles in the Ministry of External Affairs and various Indian missions abroad. Her diplomatic assignments included serving as First Secretary (Commercial) at the Indian Embassy in Warsaw, Minister Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission in New York, Ambassador to Peru and Bolivia, Ambassador to France, Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO, and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and Disarmament Conference in Geneva.

In recognition of her contributions to India-France relations, the French government honored her with the prestigious 'Commandeur de l’Ordre Nationale du Mérite' award. She has represented India at numerous international forums, including the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement, Human Rights Commission, UNESCO, ILO, WHO, WIPO, UNCTAD, and UNHCR.

From 2004 to 2008, she served as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Rajasthan Foundation under the Government of India, assisting the Chief Minister of Rajasthan at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Currently, she is a member of the Governing Body of the International Management Institute (IMI) in New Delhi and served as an independent director on the board of Hindustan Media Ventures.

Hindustan Media Ventures has praised the invaluable contributions of both Dr. Mukesh Aghi and Savitri Kunadi, highlighting their leadership and experience in steering the company forward. However, the company has not yet made an official announcement regarding the appointment of new independent directors to fill the vacancies.
