Senior Uttarakhand journalist, former president of Uttaranchal Press Club and State Bureau Chief of Dainik Jagran Vikas Dhulia has passed away. 

According to media reports, Vikas Dhulia was taken to Mahant Indresh Hospital after his health suddenly deteriorated last night, where doctors declared him dead. He was cremated at Kharkhari Ghat in Haridwar at around three o'clock on Monday afternoon.

Vikas Dhulia, who was about 55 years old, is survived by his wife, son, daughter and his mother. 

Vikas Dhulia had created a distinct identity with his outspoken writing, reporting and working style. He was deeply respected not only among journalists but also in various sections of the administration and society.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences on the death of Dhulia. Chief Minister Dhami wrote on social media, “Received very sad news of the death of former President of Uttaranchal Press Club, senior journalist and State Bureau Chief of Dainik Jagran, Shri Vikas Dhulia ji. His death is an irreparable loss not only for the world of journalism but also for the society. I pray to God to give place to the departed soul in his lotus feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense grief.”
