Sarmad Ali has been re-elected as President of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS). In a post shared on LinkedIn, Ali said he was honoured by the decision and acknowledged the challenges currently facing the newspaper industry.
He added, “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to navigate these challenges and strengthen the future of newspapers. I am grateful to all my colleagues and friends for their continued support.”
Ali has more than three decades of experience in marketing, advertising, and media management. He has been associated with the Jang Media Group since 1993 and currently serves as its Managing Director. He has also been a member of the Senate of Pakistan since April 2024.
The Annual General Meeting of the General Council of APNS was held on 31 March 2026 at APNS House in Karachi.
