PIB’s Deepak Sandhu appointed as Media Adviser to the Prime Minister
The Government has appointed Deepak Sandhu, Principal Director-General, Press Information Bureau, as Media Adviser to the Prime Minister. She has been appointed on a contractual and co-terminus basis at the level of Secretary to the Government of India and on a salary equivalent to the last pay drawn with effect from the date of taking over subsequent to resignation/ superannuation.

The Government has appointed Deepak Sandhu, Principal Director-General, Press Information Bureau, as Media Adviser to the Prime Minister. She has been appointed on a contractual and co-terminus basis at the level of Secretary to the Government of India and on a salary equivalent to the last pay drawn with effect from the date of taking over subsequent to resignation/ superannuation.
An officer of the Indian Information Service (1971 batch), Sandhu has been heading the Press Information Bureau since August 2005. During her career, she also served as Director-General (News), All India Radio; Additional Director-General and Head of the DD News Channel; Director of the Directorate of Film Festivals; and as spokesperson for the Union Ministries of Finance, Commerce and Health & Family Welfare.
Sandhu has also represented India at various international events.
