“Follow Heart Rules, Follow Traffic Rules” was the slogan for Mathrubhumi Arogyamasika health and wellness magazine and Kerala traffic police on the occasion of World Heart Day.

The initative was undertaken to raise awareness and prevention of cardio vascular diseases.

The activity was conducted at two busy traffic junctions of Kochi and Trivandrum, where Kerala police personnel and their student police band interviewed commuters when signals turned red.

Policemen through the announcement connected traffic blocks and heart block and raise awareness message in neccessity to make healthy living a part of our daily lifestyle to avoid heart blocks.

After the annoucements the police gave gifts to people who obeyed traffic rules.

The activity was inaugurated by DGP, Kerala State Police Chief Loknath Behera at Trivandrum along with Mathrubhumi officals.

Speaking on this occasion, Shreyams Kumar, Joint Managing Director, Mathrubhumi Group, said: “We wished to create awareness and encourage people to take small steps towards changing their lifestyle, which can give bigger returns in the long run while strengthening the heart and help build a healthier lifestyle.”
