In an age where digital transformation powers economies and cyber threats loom large, Khushhal Kaushik, the founder and CEO of Lisianthus Tech, is steering India toward a secure digital future. His Gurgaon-based cybersecurity firm has become a cornerstone of innovation, driven by Kaushik’s vision, resilience, and unwavering commitment to elevating India’s global cybersecurity stature.

Lisianthus Tech focuses on IT security services at a time when infrastructure is becoming more complex and vulnerable. The company works to address risks related to protection, compliance, governance, and system performance. Its portfolio includes training and certification, as well as audit, assessment, and advisory services aimed at helping organisations safeguard critical data and operations.

A Vision Rooted In National Pride

Kaushik’s journey began with a bold choice, rejecting high-paying corporate jobs after graduating from a top engineering school to found Lisianthus Tech. His mission was clear, to transform India’s reputation from a perceived cybersecurity liability into a global powerhouse. “Cybersecurity is the backbone of Digital India,” Kaushik said at a recent industry event. “We cannot afford to lag behind.” His firm offers specialised services, from security audits and assessments to ethical hacking training, empowering organisations to stay ahead of evolving threats.

Kaushik’s vision extends beyond business. He advocates for embedding cybersecurity education in school curricula and fostering public-private partnerships to build a self-reliant digital ecosystem. His leadership in organising the “Cyber Surakshit Bharat” event on June 11, 2024, attended by India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant and Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, underscored the urgency of collective action. The event, hosted in collaboration with the Cyber Security Association of India, highlighted advanced persistent threats (APTs) and the need for robust global cooperation.

Global Recognition, Local Impact

Kaushik’s influence transcends borders. In 2018, he became the first Indian cybersecurity expert featured in UNESCO’s annual magazine, followed by a second research paper in 2021. He insisted on including his Indian ethnicity in these publications to spotlight the country’s potential. “I wanted the world to know India is a force in cybersecurity,” His expertise has earned him invitations to lecture at prestigious institutions like Northwestern University and Punjab University, as well as recognition from global leaders, including the former Head of Israel’s National Information Security Authority.

Closer to home, Lisianthus Tech has made tangible impacts. The firm resolved a high-profile email hacking case for an Additional District Judge in Sardarpur, Madhya Pradesh, in under 30 minutes, earning praise from local authorities. Another case involving a Nigerian-based hacker was cracked in just 48 hours, impressing even the New Delhi Police. Kaushik’s work with Indian law enforcement, including training police officials, has strengthened grassroots cybersecurity efforts.

Resilience In High-stakes Arena

Kaushik’s resilience is as critical as his vision. Operating in a field where cyber threats evolve daily, he champions proactive strategies like AI-driven threat detection and comprehensive incident response plans. “We must anticipate threats, not just react to them.” This mindset has guided Lisianthus Tech to become a trusted partner for government bodies, corporations, and private entities.

His personal resilience shines through in his career trajectory. Turning down lucrative offers to pursue a start-up in a competitive industry required grit. His appointment as a cybersecurity advisor to BRICS CCI and Vice President of the Cyber Security Association of India reflects his ability to translate challenges into opportunities. Kaushik’s receipt of the Glory of India Award 2020 by the Indian Achievers’ Forum, alongside luminaries like Kiran Bedi, further cements his legacy.

Charting The Path Ahead

Kaushik’s ambitions for Lisianthus Tech align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision. He envisions a Central Cyber Security Centre of Excellence to drive AI-powered threat detection and policy innovation. “India’s digital growth is unprecedented, with over 840 million people online today and 1.35 billion by 2026,” Kaushik noted, echoing Amitabh Kant’s remarks at the Cyber Shikshit Bharat event. His push for homegrown expertise and stringent data privacy laws aims to safeguard this growth.

As Lisianthus Tech continues to innovate, Kaushik remains the driving force behind its mission. His blend of strategic foresight, global influence, and relentless determination is not just securing systems but also inspiring a nation to embrace cybersecurity as a collective responsibility. With Kaushik at the helm, India’s digital future looks not only promising but impregnable.
