Hindustan Times recently celebrated its success by hosting a relaxed evening for its clients. Held at The Good Wife, BKC, the event called Comedy & Cocktails kicked off with food and an open bar to keep guests’ spirits high.

Comedians Sapan Verma and Angad Singh Ranyal of East India Comedy were the entertainers for the night. “It was amazing performing for Hindustan Times at the event. The crowd was sporting, fun and interesting. I read HT and my consumption of newspapers has evolved over the years. As a kid, I really enjoyed reading HT Café, but now I’m an avid reader of the main paper as well,” says Sapan Verma.

“The audience was very receptive to the jokes; it didn’t feel like a corporate show at all. I’m a sports (section) fan but when I was preparing for my masters, I was asked to read the editorial section and that’s how I thoroughly started enjoying M S Subramaniam’s column every Sunday in Hindustan Times,” says Angad Singh Ranyal as he talks about his favourite memories associated with the newspaper in his growing up years.

“The show was great fun, I’m a die-hard fan of Angad and love stand-up shows in general,” says Raj Joshi, GM West, Print & Radio - GroupM, “This brings back old memories because I’ve associated with HT since its launch in Mumbai - the entirety of my career actually,” adds Joshi.

Clients also praised the organising team at HT. “This was a great interactive session and good fun, it’s nice to have something like this once in a while. The HT team has always been pleasant and has by far been one of our best partners to carry business with,” says Firdause Wadia - Investment Director - Red Fuse Communications, who also heartily congratulated HT, for its impending 13th (Mumbai) anniversary in July.

“The event was a great initiative, the comic acts were definitely a great stress reliever and a good way to interact with different personalities from the industry. I think HT as a publication is ahead by leaps and bounds from its counterparts when it comes to innovation. The team is great to work with too, there’s a personal touch. I read HT and while we are all moving towards the digital age, HT has managed to create a connect with the readers. This will definitely help them in the years to come,” says Srinivas Kanchappu - Business Director - Starcom.
