HT Estates through the 3D lens
This Saturday, January 22, 2011, readers of HT Estates will be in for a special surprise when they lay their eyes on a special 18-page 3D issue.
This Saturday, January 22, 2011, readers of HT Estates, the real estate and property supplement of Hindustan Times, will be in for a special surprise when they lay their eyes on a special 18-page 3D issue. Seen through the special 3D glasses (included with the issue), the whole paper will come alive with buildings, skyscrapers, gardens, town-halls, as if seeing them in real life.
This is the first time that any newspaper has done this for a complete paper or supplement for their entire readership base. With more than 22 lakh readers in Delhi NCR, the execution of this project is a mammoth task. All the ads as well as edit-content of this issue is in 3D and need to be seen through the special 3D glasses.
Speaking on the initiative, Shantanu Bhanja, Vice President - Marketing, HT Media, explained, “As the number one newspaper of Delhi, we are delighted to be at the forefront of innovative practices such as these. The future of media depends on its ability to quickly take on new formats, changing media habits and technological breakthroughs. The 3D HT Estates issue is a perfect example of how technology can be adopted to enhance reader experience without making huge investments and changes in media consumption.”
Vasantha Angamuthu, Editor, Special Projects, HT Media, elaborated on the content of the issue and said, “Aptly enough, given the background, we focused the content of this special issue on the ‘Future of Real Estate’. International and national architects like Cory Ticktin, James Law and Paul Swift take you through the homes of the future. As you put on your 3D glasses, it is a fascinating journey to be on.”
