Corporate Affairs Leadership Award for Hinduja Group’s Ashish Kaul

Ashish Kaul, Vice President at Hinduja Group India was conferred with the Corporate Affairs Leadership Award at the World CSR Congress, held in Mumbai on February 17 and 18, 2013.

The Corporate Affairs Forum & Awards is chaired by Ameer Ismail, Executive Director, Lowe Lintas India and endorsed by World CSR Congress and Asian Confederation of Business. The Corporate Affairs Forum & Awards recognises and honours Individuals who, through their corporate practices, have helped to raise India’s corporate disclosure standards and corporate governance. The Awards seek to identify and celebrate those individuals that have had a positive impact on our environment and society as well as their business.

On receiving the Award, Kaul said, “Recognition is a great honour, especially for people like me, who have had a roof over my head the night I slept and woke up staring at the sky through a torn tent in a migrant camp. To nourish and pursue a dream in a million displaced dreams was a rarity, and to have made this far has been possible only because of the opportunities that my employers and seniors have given me. This is to all those opportunities and trust of my employers.”

Kaul’s past positions include Country Manager & Business Head, Bajaj Group (International FMCG Business - MENAP); Executive Vice President, Corporate Brand Development, Zee Network & Essel Group; and Business Head, Credence International – UAE.

The Awards Jury and Advisory Council for 2013 included Malcolm Monteiro, CEO, South Aisa of DHL Express India; Rajeev Dubey, President - Group HR, Corporate Services & After-Market & Member of the Group Executive Board of Mahindra & Mahindra; Vijay Kalantri, President of All India Association of Industries & Vice Chairman - World Trade Centre; Professor Peter Totterdill, Joint Chief Executive of UK Work Organisation Network; Dr Martin A Blake, Director of Sustainable Development at Industry RE & Chairman of Blake Advisory Pte; Anuradha Bhavnani, Regional Director of Shell Foundation; Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director of Wockhardt and CEO, Wockhardt Foundation; and Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General & CEO of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, among others.
