Senior media professional Arun Kumar Choubey has stepped down from his role as Editor - Synergy and Brand Solutions at BAG Convergence, the digital arm of News24. He had joined the organisation last year.

In his role, Choubey was responsible for strengthening synergy between the group’s digital and television platforms, expanding content across multiple platforms and managing branded content initiatives for digital platforms.

Choubey confirmed his resignation and said he had decided to step down due to personal reasons. He also said he is in discussions with a few organisations and expects to take up a new role soon, reports Samachar4media.

Choubey brings over 25 years of experience across print and digital media. He began his career as a trainee journalist with The Pioneer in Lucknow before moving to Hindustan Times' Ranchi edition. He entered digital media in 2004 with ZeeNews.com.

He subsequently held roles at Dainik Jagran, India Today Group and Financial Chronicle, the business publication of Deccan Chronicle Holdings.

In 2017, Choubey rejoined Zee Media as Associate Editor at ZeeBiz.com. He later worked across ZeeNews.com, legal website MyLord.in and India.com in various editorial and digital roles.

At India.com, he developed new IP concepts for its YouTube channel, including Pol.Punch and Foodshaala. Before leaving the organisation, he headed its Digital 2C unit, where he worked on strengthening coordination between Zee Media's national and regional television channels and its digital platforms.
