Archna Vyas: A strategic communication leader celebrates another year of excellence

As Archna Vyas celebrates her birthday, it’s a moment to reflect on her remarkable career that spans over two decades of shaping media, communication, and policy across industries. Currently serving as the Director of Policy and Communications at Gates Foundation, Archna leads the Global Growth and Empowerment portfolio, encompassing Gender Equality, Digital Public Infrastructure, Financial Inclusion, Agriculture and Nutrition, and Global Education. Her leadership plays a pivotal role in driving meaningful impact in these sectors.

Archna’s journey at the Gates Foundation began in 2014 as the Deputy Director of Communications, where she led communication functions for the India Office. In October 2023, she assumed her current role as Director, continuing to bring her expertise and vision to the forefront.

Before joining the Gates Foundation, Archna made her mark in the corporate world. She was the Regional Manager - Media and Corporate Communications for South East Asia at Reckitt Benckiser from 2009 to 2014, where she spearheaded media strategy, management, and corporate communications. Her experience also includes her tenure as Vice President at IMX, India, where she managed media buying for clients, and earlier roles at renowned agencies like Mindshare, Universal McCann, FCB, and Ogilvy & Mather, where she led media planning and communication for high-profile brands such as Pepsi, Nestlé, and Seagram.

Archna’s vast expertise and strategic insights have earned her respect and recognition across industries. As she steps into another year, her contributions continue to inspire and impact the world of communication and policy.
