ToI launches apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry
The Times of India has launched apps for the iPad, iPhone, Android and Blackberry platforms, which will give people access to regular updates from the Times Network.

The iPad app, which was launched on March 28, was the most downloaded app on the Indian app store of iTunes. The other apps, which were launched two days later, have also seen large downloads, it was shared.
The company also said that it was looking to even more platforms, and would roll out the app to as many different devices.
Rishi Khiani, CEO, Times Internet, said, “The future belongs to mobile devices, especially smartphones and tablets. Our apps aim to deliver our premium offerings to our readers who belong to the highest strata of society and are quick to adopt these devices.”
The apps aim to deliver in-depth coverage with around the clock updates, and using content from the Times Group. The app will also have photo galleries and videos from various categories, including news, sports and entertainment.
The apps will also have a feature called ‘Speed News’, which will bring minute by minute updates from over 500 Times of India reporters in over 80 cities across the country.
All the apps will come with social media integration as well to let users share articles and photos via Facebook, Twitter and email, or save the news (which is delivered over the Internet) offline for later reading as well. The app also uses The Times of India network to provide local news from 30 cities.
