Haptik develops virtual assistant for Tata Mutual Fund to manage customer queries

 Haptik, one of the world's leading Conversational AI companies and a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, recently developed an Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) for Tata Mutual Fund, with a scope of managing 70 per cent of query inflow for its customer support team. The virtual assistant is the "botified" version of Tata Mutual Fund's very popular Investor Education icon Professor Simply Simple. This protagonist, Prof. Simple is quite popular across Investors and the Distribution Fraternity in the Mutual Fund Industry. Prof. Simple, makes understanding mutual funds and other intricacies effortless, especially for people just starting out on the investment journey.

The starting point was to build algorithmic capability to scan, interpret and contextualize all the existing digital information about Tata Mutual Fund. This mandate got extended to ease the tele-calling team of regular queries which can be interpreted and responded to using the state of art BoT interface. Haptik, undertook a complete review of TMF's call-centre data and identified cohorts of standard queries and worked on addressing the quartile with the most common enquiries.

Most queries were around account information, NAV updates, valuations, buying funds and SIP purchase and redemptions. In 3 months, Haptik developed an IVA that could swiftly and seamlessly resolve these routine, repetitive queries and free customer support team to solve complex queries that required their dedicated attention. For NAV notifications, Haptik also proposed the deployment of an IVA on WhatsApp.
