With more than 20 years of experience in advertising and communication, Glen Ireland, former CEO at Dentsu Digital and COO, DentsuWebchutney, has launched a digital agency called 8020.

8020 is positioned as a data-driven digital marketing agency that aims to connect the dots using various data points across the customer buying cycle. This helps create a strategic framework for relevant online brand interaction and engagement needed to deliver better conversion and ROI.

The agency provides an integrated suite of digital marketing services that covers design and UX, content, social media management and monitoring, mobile app design and development, Facebook marketing, Google AdWords and site analytics.

Ireland is no stranger to integration having worked across agencies like Rediffusion Y&R where he honed his understanding of brand advertising to heading up RMG Connect where he spent many years on loyalty and database-driven marketing. He has also worked at Wunderman Australia as Digital and CRM Strategy lead helping brands like Mircosoft and Caltex leverage customer data. At Dentsu, Ireland led a team of over 100 people and worked across some of the biggest brands to deliver breakthrough digital campaigns.

But never before has he seen a time as disruptive in consumer marketing as it is today. There are new technologies, platforms, and devices that continuously shift the goal posts for brands and challenge conventional marketing and brand thinking.

Disruption is fine, in his opinion, but brands are increasingly getting saturated with the ‘big idea’ approach—one-size-fits-all thinking isn’t going to work in today’s context. Agencies need to reinvent to a more interaction-focused, multi-messaging approach that targets customers individually and create conversations that sync up with their behavior and consumption journeys. 8020 is ideally positioned to address this opportunity as it focuses on pulling together the sum of many parts via a data-led approach to problem solving and digital communication integration.

8020 has already started work with a few clients that include Hathwayand Datacom besides doing projects with Tata Motors, Apollo Hospitals, and others.
