An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Debraj Tripathy, Managing Director of MediaCom, began his career with Ogilvy & Mather and later joined Mindshare Fulcrum and Maxus Delhi as General Manager. Being the MD of a leading media agency is not only a demanding job but also it is constantly challenging to stay on the top. One can imagine the constant stream of emails, meetings and work-related travel he has to do. This week, we catch up with him to know how he ensures uninterrupted downtime on weekends. Read on.

1-On a typical weekend you will find me:-
I make sure weekends are always at home. They are reserved for my wife and daughter. Since I travel quite a bit during weekdays, weekends help me unwind.

2-My idea of relaxing is: -
Driving is a stress- buster for me. Whenever there is a long weekend we usually prefer driving into the hills. Watching TV shows with family… we have watched the entire series of The Big Bang Theory more than 10 times. Same with Frazier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Yes Minister.

3-One vice I cannot do without
Home food… Rajwa Chawal is my all-time favorite dish. I love cooking non-vegetarian food for me and my daughter. My wife is a vegetarian, so I prepare breakfast for her once in a while.

4-I love a staycation/adventure
Hills are the best place to spend long weekends. My favorite place is Chail, situated 45 km away from Shimla. When it comes to holiday’s abroad, then Rome is the one place we all love. Wengen in Switzerland, Bali and Shoghi (near Shimla) are also on the list.

5-I confess, I am a
Workaholic and fairly lazy on weekends. I don’t like crowded places. I love to stay in my own zone.

6-I spend me- time on.
Reading books and walking. I love watching food shows on TV, with my daughter

7-The last show I binge watched:-
Masterchef Australia

8-A Skill/hobby I want to learn this year.
Music was my hobby when I was younger. Would love to learn again.
