TBWA's Blink to Speak Headed to Cannes Lions 2018

TBWA India has entered the Blink to Speak campaign in six different categories at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Earlier this year TBWA along with Asha Ek Hope foundation for ALS/MND and NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute launched the world’s first eye sign language. The sign language was documented in the guidebook BLINK TO SPEAK and was made available free of cost for all patients of ALS/MND and their and caregivers. An e-version of the book could be downloaded from


The new language solved the problem of communicating with ALS patients, and other neurological disorders, as patients tend to lose their ability to speak, instead, using their hands to communicate. Blink to Speak alphabet has eight letters that can be used to communicate everything from “Call the Doctor” to “I Love You”.

This campaign has been entered into as many as six broad categories and ten sub-categories at Cannes Lions 2018. These are : Design Lions - Promotional Item Design and Books; Direct Lions - Healthcare, Art Direction/Design, and Low Budget / High Impact Campaign; Pharma - Non Regulated: Direct to Consumers and Non Regulated: Direct to Patients; Health and Wellness - Non-Profit / Foundation-led Education; Print & Publishing - Publications for Good, and finally, Product Design - Medical Products.
