Rediffusion DYR Chennai has been assigned the creative mandate for Lotte India Corporation. Rediffusion will handle the duties for Lotte’s candy business, which includes products like Coffy Bite, Caramilk, Lacto King, and Lacto Bon Bon, among others. The size of the business is pegged at upwards of Rs 20 crore. JWT is the incumbent agency.
Lenovo India has appointed Jaivinder Singh Gill as Executive Director, Relational Business. Prior to this, Gill was Director-Sales and Operations Excellence at Dell India. He has earlier worked with companies such as ATS Services India Pvt Ltd, American Express (India) Pvt Ltd and Samtel Color Ltd in varied roles and responsibilities.
Aloke Banerjee has been appointed CEO of Rosebys Interiors India Ltd, part of Rosebys, which is UK’s largest specialist textiles and home furnishings retail chain. Prior to this, Banerjee was CEO, SKumar’s Nationwide Ltd. He has earlier worked with Tata Tea, Britannia and Bombay Dyeing Manufacturing. Banerjee has over 15 years’ experience.
Mudra has appointed Arijit Ray as Executive VP and Head of Mudra, Mumbai. Ray comes from Saatchi & Saatchi, Mumbai where he was Executive VP. He started his career in 1990, and has worked with agencies like Rediffusion DY&R, McCann Erickson and O&M. He has handled clients like Canon, Singer, GPI, United Airlines, Ericsson, AirTel, Nestle (Nescafe), Gillette, Coke (Fanta & Kinley), Reliance Infocom and Mahindra Renault Logan.
Anil Kakar, Senior Creative Director, Percept/H, is now Executive Creative Director and will report to Ajay Chandwani, Executive Director and board member, Percept Limited, as well as Prabhakar Mundkur, CEO, Percept/H. Kakar started his career 15 years ago with Leo Burnett. He moved to Bates David Enterprise (earlier Enterprise Nexus), and later to Publicis Ambience, before joining Percept. He has been with Percept/H since August 2005. At Percept/H, he leads the creative team, and has worked on various campaigns for brands such as FedEx, Canon, Electrolux, Pantaloons, Yardley, Siyarams, Economic Times and Times Ascent.

Orissa is set to get a new 24-hour news channel soon. Naxatra News channel, promoted by Prabhat Ranjan Mallick who has several business interests in Orissa, is scheduled to go on air from July 4. The channel, which is headquartered in Bhubaneshwar, has already got its license from the I&B Ministry.
